University of Tennessee Student Union Wins American School and University Award
S2A is proud to have been involved with The University of Tennessee, Student Union Phase II Project, which recently won the Outstanding Design Award. The project is featured in the American School and University magazine. This building features a preeminent meeting and event space, but is also “A home away from home” for students. “This space really serves as a crossroad between a student’s classes and their residence hall or off-campus housing” says Ian Crone, Director of the Student Union.
S2A worked directly with Matthew Cummings, local glass blower at Pretentious Glass, to create photo realistic renderings and bring the concept to life. The 30’ tall glass installation which hangs in the full height atrium is featured on the magazine cover.
Congratulations to BarberMcMurry Architects, McCarty Holsaple McCarty Architects & Interior Designers, and the Christman Company for their amazing contribution.
